I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State.
I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington and my Master of Science in Psychology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
I have worked as a mental health therapist for forty five years. For the first fifteen years I worked in several community mental health centers. Since that time I have been in private practice in Bellevue.
In that time there have been great changes in this field. I have learned, been trained in and practiced many approaches in that time. At this point in my career I prefer to take a very goal-oriented approach to expediting the process of change, growth and personal evolution in response our changing lives, needs and circumstances.
This includes therapies such as the Gottman Method for couple’s therapy, Strategic and Transtheoretical therapies for individuals, and Motivational Interviewing. The essence of my approach is to work with my clients to identify their goals and circumstances and then make a plan which most expediently meets their needs.
I have included a variety of essays and articles with this website in case you would like more information on the beliefs and practices I bring to my therapy.
I look forward to discussing this more with you.
